forensics

Hello readers, today for science I will be talking about forensic science. Forensic science is basically criminal justice where forensic scientist analyse evidence from crime scenes to figure out who’s guilty, who’s innocent, any potential suspects, etc through fingerprints, ground types (soil, sand, mud etc) footprints, diseases, and much more. Fro this work I was working with Naomi and we did it in Canva. Hope  you like it byee

Maths

Hi there bloggers

Welcome back to another blog post

For these past co, I learned about repeating patterns and function machines. A repeating pattern is a sequence that follows a regular order, like 2, 4, 6, 2, 4, 6. Function machines show how numbers change when a rule is applied, such as “add 3” to any number. For example, if you put 5 into a function machine with the rule “add 3,” it will give you 8. I practice creating patterns and using function machines to apply rules to numbers, which helped me understand how to predict what comes next in a sequence.

I was going to add a picture of my work but my camera dose not work.

Writing

Writing is a way to share your thoughts and stories, but it can be tough to make your words stand out. In this blog post, I’ll share some tips I’ve learned to make my writing more exciting, like using stronger words and mixing up my sentences. These tricks help make writing more fun and keep readers interested from start to finish!

I’ve been learning how to “spice up” my writing, and it’s been really fun! I found that using stronger words, like saying “He mumbled, his voice heavy with exhaustion” instead of just “He said he was tired,” makes my writing more interesting. I also learned to mix up my sentences—short ones for excitement and longer ones to explain things better. Using similes, like “She was as mad as a lion,” helps paint a better picture in the reader’s mind. Overall, I’m getting better at making my writing sound more real and fun to read!

This is my work hope you like it byee.

Task: Spice Up Your Speech!

Your Mission:

You’ve got 10 direct speech sentences. Your job is to make them more exciting by replacing the boring words “said” and “asked” with more interesting “speech verbs.”

Here’s a quick example:

  • Original: “I’m going to the park,” she said.
  • Spiced Up: “I’m going to the park,” she exclaimed.

Now it’s your turn!

  1. “Can you help me with this?” she pleaded.
  2. “I don’t believe it!” she gasped .
  3. “I’m so hungry,” he complained.
  4. “Be careful!” she warned.
  5. “I’m not going,” she declared.
  6. “I’m really excited,” she exclaimed.
  7. “What’s happening?” he demanded.
  8. “I don’t know,” she admitted.
  9. “You’re kidding!” he protested.
  10. “Thank you,” she whispered.

Tips:

  • Replace “said” and “asked” with speaking verbs from the slides we have been working on.
  • Consider the character’s emotions to choose the right speech verb.
  • Have fun and be creative!

Pike river mine

Hi there bloggers

Welcome back to another blog post. this week in Mrs Allan’s class we have have been learning about the Pike river mine. And we were learning how the Pike River Mine, located on the west coast of New Zealand’s South Island, was the site of a tragic coal mine disaster in 2010, when an explosion claimed the lives of 29 miners. The explosion occurred during an attempt to re-enter the mine after a previous smaller blast. The event highlighted serious safety issues within the mining industry, leading to calls for reforms in mining practices and regulations. Efforts to recover the miners’ bodies were halted due to the dangerous conditions in the mine. First we had to fill out these slides than do a DLO on Canva or Google drawings. I choose canva and made a DLO on Canva about what you need to take for a mine to be safe and some fun facts. Hope you like my blog post byee.
